This branch is quite busy compare to other beaches near by. Unfortunately there are less people at the front of the shop. Went there to do my TPH test but their machine was broken. I also took my daughter with me as she needed general eye test. When the staff member was booking for my daughter’s test I also asked her about my TPH test she said she will book it when my daughter’s test done. When went back then another staff member told the machine is broken try Becton Branch. How devastating it was. My daughter also told me the optician was scary.

Went to specsavers for the forar time last year. They prescribed me with a minus power lense for my glasses. When I complained I cant see well in these, they said I just need time to adjust. A year later I went again and low and behold they admit to prescribing me with the wrong power, but I still had to pay for their mistake!

Booked an appointment for eye health consultantation due to eye pain for my elderly mother.

General store staff advised to not see the optician as said it was only due to her not wearing glasses and now my mother has ended up in the A&E due to the severe pain in her eye. Doctors diagnosed her saying it was completely unrelated to her wearing glasses and that it could've been dealt with sooner had she gone to a optician/doctor quicker.

Cannot believe how they've treated us throughout this process. Sent in a formal complaint and cancelled my order for a refund and they still have not apologised for how this has been dealt. They've only given excuses with no sincerity at all.

We were once loyal customers of specsavers for the great customer service but never again.

Let me tell you about my experience today. I went in for a contact lense check. I wait for 40 minutes to be seen. One of their members of staff actually looked at me like i was crazy when i went up to the counter to complain. She then turned to another customer and smirked. Seriously? Not even an apology? And then when i am finally in the room, i am told that they can't see me because they don't have my prescription available in the lenses that i wear. One of their members of staff called me yesterday to confirm my attendence. She asked me if i had contact lenses and i told her that i had run out. She still told me to come in. They wasted 40 minutes of my time for nothing. Unorganized and untrained. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I was given an appointment for eye test on 01/01/2023 at 16: 00. They even send me a text confirmation. Called the store making the trip and there was no answer. Physically made the trip regardless and found them to be shut! No one from the store bothered to inform me about it. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Extremely disappointed. Very unprofessional.

Staff are pleasant and helpful. The only issue I’ve had is like with others leaving a review here is the waiting times. We ended up waiting for over an hour to be seen but the time slots on the website are every five mins. As I was able to book an appointment for me and my mum within five mins of each other. Management need to factor in the actual time a consultation takes and have slots set accordingly. I’m sure this will not only be appreciated by customers but staff also, who have to deal with frustrated customers.

Friendly and professional staff. Made me feel at ease for my 1st appointment at this Branch. Exceptional Customer Service from the lady who helped me choose my new glasses. She was amazing.

Fantastic service. I was visited for eye minor condition, the exam is so though and the staff is very polite. Super pleased with my optometrist very competent, professional and easy to talk to. I am truly impressed. Highly recommended. They solved my issue

I have gone back to specsavers after a long time. I needed somewhere reliable to get an up-to-date glasses prescription since I have been asked to stop wearing contacts. Optometrist are fine, the staff are fine in person. However, the waiting time to be get through on the phone is abysmal. I have tried at least three times during the day, all of which have left me on the line for almost 16 minutes- mind you I am working, so I do not have the time to sit for an half an hour. I receive a text stating my glasses are ready for pick-up and I plan to pick it up after work ; I rush as fast as I can to make it before closing time (roughly arrive at 17: 05) and there is a A4 print out situation on the closed doors stating they are closing early due to stock? This is a bit bizarre of a reason. Highly frustrating for someone who is works 9-5. Hence I have tried calling the next day and no one picks up the phone.
Who is seriously managing this place?

Happy with the consultation very friendly.
How ever not happy with the customer service. I have ordered my Glasses over a week didn’t receive the updates regarding the collection, I have called on Saturday no answers but I got a call from them
For them said i called they missed and I have asked for my glasses are ready for collection they said yes plz come and collet, I rushed to collect reception sent me to upstairs for collection.

I waited for 25mints to collect my glasses
The girl who saved me and other she was really slow and she went inside the room was laughing with other colleagues not even care about customers waiting time, I do understand that you have to be happy at work place also you have to think about your customers.

Is valuable please encourage your staff to focus on waiting time.

Been going here for years but each time I recieve a poor level of customer service, staff leave people waiting and engage in idle conversation or browse their mobile phone rather than serve. Will be going elsewhere from now on!

This stars is for Dr. (I don't know his name), was very efficient with my consultation! But, about the time for received my glasses was problem! The manager said I will receive some money back because wasn't finished on time. I have been last wensday (3 08 2022), and the lady cashier, said is OK. But I didn't receiving anything! Shame!

I done a big mistake without reading reviews. The staff have poor customer service. Timekeeping too too long. I have been waiting for nearly an hour. Because all staff having wonderful launch and they are chatting.customer waiting. I just left and crossroad boots done the same day my eye test and glass without any issues. I’m never going to East Ham Specsavers again and NEVER Recommend to going there.

Always brilliant and I love the makeover it's modernised. Staff always helpful their better then any specsavers I have been and that is me comparing it to ilford who are sales driven and don't care about the customer but how many sales they have made. Eastham my go to specsavers!

Really annoying staff. I booked my appointment at 11: 20 and when I was there they asking me to wait for 1 hr then y not make it drop in why do we have to book an appointment online. And there was a lady who doesn’t know anything and y is she at reception then? And a guy walks in and I am asking him something and he is answering me idk whatever he wants to speak, looks like a complete messed up system. This staff needs a proper training or has to do something with their management. Wasted my time.

Very bad service. Ordered a pair of glasses in march 22, after more than a month i have been told there's something wrong so they placed a new order. Then after one month I've been told the frame is discontinued, so i need to choose a different frame even though the frame was still available in the store. Also they charged me £30 for slightly tinting the glasses.

It was very bad experience with them i will never come back again there. Bad customer's service. I Ordered a pair of glasses, after more than a 20 days i saw is not like i said thin glasses. Shiit i really don't recommend it

Really bad place to go and have eye check they give me rrong glasses and never want to change them the director of this place is really horrible person and doesn't know to speak with costumer! He told me for the amount of money u pay u can't get the best service his luck I didn't register his conversation just because I didn't think he will talk to costumer like that!

Come to collect my glasses and been wait for 20 mins, there was 4 staffs in the section and only 1 actually serving customers, and the rest are just ignoring me. The new glasses, which I paid 200 pounds for, have lose legs, scratches on the frame, and unclean lens.won't use specsavers again, my last glasses was from ace&tate, which only costs 98 pounds and last for 3 years and with excellent services, I couldn't book an appointment hence come to specsavers but the outcome is disappointing.

I write this review sitting on the waiting area on such an uncomfortable chair. My appointment was at 1: 20, it is now 2: 17 and I have not moved. I have prompted staff members but no luck. Customer service is no existent, there are so many staff members and yet somehow nothing is happening. All I hear is when you taking a break? This place is a JOKE. Only come here if you have a few hours because this place is pathetic. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This was our 2nd visit (last ever) and bad experience again;
1-Minimum 2 hrs wait time to only get the eye test done
2- No appropriate seating, lots of elderly and children have stand for long time. When asked to move one the chair from the table which was not in use, staff refused it.
3- Broken equipment (s). Staff said it will be fixed in January. People have stand while their head is resting on the machine. Very inconvenient.
4- Poor customer service, most of the staff rude. Especially young ladies.
5-Not pro-active at all. Prescription was not provided after the test. Only when asked, which took then another 20 minutes to write it down.

Love both sets of glasses, very pleased with East Ham’s Specsavers staff, they were very professional but also very pleasant and helpful. I did seem to queue for a while before any tests were started, they seem to book lots of people for the same time, but once the examination was finished and I picked my glasses I was out within 40 minutes, not too shabby.

I am really unhappy with this branch. I came into the store today for an appointment as i had broken my glasses so I needed one asap so I can have pair of glasses made. When I stepped into the store I was greeted with such an unpleasant attitude from a member off staff working there, she turned around and went before you say anything where is your mask? And I said I am exempt and she said why from what? ONE RULE which you cannot do is ASK someone why they are exempt because IT IS MY LIFE wether I want to share it or not? I said to her I do not wish to share that with you and she said you have to or else i cant let let you in store you need a mask you can go buy one from the corner shop I said to her again I AM EXEMPT. Im not being funny but I see all other colleagues wearing masks and gloves but herself and she had the audacity to tell me what to i walked out in furious.
SPECSAVERS YOU NEED TO TRAIN YOUR MEMBER OFF STAFF OR GET RID she was so rude if she's rude to me like this imagine someone elderly that's absolutely disgusting I am so disgusted i then went to boots down the road and received amazing service.
AVOID lady wearing skirt and headscarf.

Excellent young lady who help and assist me in having my eye test.

But over booking customers for appointment and waiting over an hour, hearding customers making complaints, and overall from what I could heard the managerment could give a care.

Will try else where next time

I accompanied my elderly mother on Sunday 24 October for an eye test at Specsavers Eastham. This was without doubt the worst experiences I have ever had at any retail outlet let alone opticians!

We arrived on time for mum’s appointment to a packed store with hardly any room for seating. After a 25 minute delay the Optician called to see my mum but as the room was up a flight of stairs I asked if she could have her appointment on the ground floor as she couldn’t climb stairs. The Optician said this was fine and she would be called by the next available Optician. Another half an hour later (nearly an hour after our appointment time) I queried why my mum hadn’t been seen, the Assistant checked and found that instead of her case folder being at the front of the queue it had been put to the back! I asked when my mum would be seen and she replied that it would be at least another 20 minutes (almost an hour and a half after her appointment time). I said my mum was struggling to breath in a store that was packed and hot (she has a breathing condition) so we would go for a walk and asked that they call me when the Optician was ready. 15 minutes later the Assistant called me, I hurried back with my mum and was there in 3-4 minutes where I was told that the Optician had actually called someone else in and we’d have to wait for another 20 minutes to be seen!

The Assistant was apologetic and offered to rearrange the appointment but we’d had enough at this point and left.

I have never visited such a disorganised store with very little regard for customers and their time. Don’t visit this store, stick to independent opticians or go to Boots/Vision Express! Specsavers Eastham are awful.

At first I wanted to return my glasses as I wasn’t happy with my purchase. The staff didn’t want to refund me they eventually took the glasses back after going back and forth a few times, they said I would receive my refund 10 days later here I am 1 month later still waiting for my refund. Not very happy I don’t suggest you go there if you want quick service.

It's accessable because it's at the heart of the high street and there are staffs that are very helpful and know what they do. I gave 3 stars based on my experience with certain staff not knowing what they're doing and not provided me with adequate information and worse of all mess up my prescription order.

The franchise.is very helpful in service provision. My needs were not meet at one store and I wes asked to go to this store were the competent person is located, and the personnel was called to expect me and that was good.

Having just finished speaking to Adriana on the phone about ordering new glasses for my husband, I have to say I'm very impressed. She was very thorough in sharing the options available to me and the transaction that took place was quick and easy. Thank you to both Adriana and Specsavers East Ham for conducting yourselves excellently throughout this pandemic.

Leaving a review for my son's very first eye test, he was looked after very well and I was impressed with how they treated him. As a parent you want you child to be made to feel at ease, especially for their first visit and this was definitely the case for us, this is not even our local branch but we will stick with this one for sure. Keep up the good work.

Worst specsavers store I've ever visited. They took 13 days only to let me know that they don't have the frame I ordered. Yet no apology! The Colleague was very rude. Considering taking it further to their headoffice and to trading standard. Not recommended at all.

Took three weeks to get my specs with me calling multiple times and then they got the prescription wrong. Went for a retest and took nearly a month to get my new pair of lenses. Tried calling again but will not pick up. Do not reccomend at all!

Had an amazing experience here, everyone was friendly and professional. Safety measures were in place and the shop was very clean. The staff were fantastic, dealt with all my requests with efficiency. Will always get my eye test and glasses from here.

I wish there was an option for 0 stars. I've never liked this branch but today was the worst customer service I have experienced in the whole time I have been here. Dr Zara Malik was the only nice member of staff, otherwise everyone else was behaving like school kids in a playground, laughing amongst each other, not having one concern for the customers and showing attitude for no apparent reason.

What actually annoyed me was when I gave my current glasses to be tightened from the sides and the girl damaged my lens and didn't know what she was doing. They made me wait again for a mistake they made and once they fixed the glasses there were plastic edges sticking out which fell off? Really horrible finish.

I also asked for the glasses to be wiped because they were returned to me which fingerprints and smudges all over the lenses which they didn't seem happy about dealing with. It's basic customer service.

Their job of "cleaning" the lenses was horrible as the lenses were covered in watermarks as they were not cleaned with proper spray.

Really sloppy, I'm never going to Specsavers again and will advise everyone I know against registering with them too.

Good social distancing, seen promptly. Helpful and good service all round. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again. My duaghter was treated kindly, child friendly optometrist.

Very disappointed with customer service. It is all due to absolute lack of organization and communication between the team. Everything that could go wrong during my visits, did go wrong. Their appointments system does not work. Even if you have an appointment, you always end up waiting a minimum of 20min before anyone sees you.
Their card machine was not working one day, so I had to pay cash. That's fine, however I was asked by three different people to pay again on my next visit, because it was not showing on the system.
I was told my contact lenses would be ready between 5-7 days. Every time I called to check if they are ready, I was told to call again in the next few days. It took over two weeks to get them and I have been having constant headaches due to the fact I am not using the right prescription glasses.

On a positive note, staff is generally polite. The trial contact lenses were ready earlier than expected. Hence I am giving two stars.

Not pleased the website states 2 week turnaround to have the glasses waited 2 full weeks including weekends! As per website stated I called the branch.very unpleasant very unhelpful she was not even willing to check to see if the prescription glasses had arrived instead like a robot repeated COVID reason IT MAY BE delayed.really!? Now I feel compelled to go to vision express and get a full refund, as Specsavers failed to deliver as what is advertised as promised on their website. If you ask me they are just failing to deliver and making. P. S remove the staff who show no professionalism and who are unfriendly because of the staff moral being low has an affect on your customers.
