I had a 3 day trial here. Very disappointed. It’s more expensive than my current gym/pool. The positives. Changing rooms lovely, pool area and sauna/steam areas very nice. Opening hours good.
The bad. No longer has jacuzzis.
Gym equipment very old and dated. The room with resistance machines, Dumbells etc is very small and cramped. Only one set of each Dumbell weight for the lower weights and not much room for many people to do free weights.
Seems to be some sort of circuit class 5-6 in the area where mats, kettlebells etc are so you can’t get near them to do kettlebell or core exercises.
Pool is child friendly (there’s enough council pools kids can go to) only child free times are after 6 on a weekday (ok if it’s a workday) and after 4 on a weekend which is not good for me as I need to workout during day time.
There are so few adult friendly health centre la with gyms so very disappointing.
Not a gym with a friendly vibe.
Also disappointed that just given the trial pass, no one showed me round or told me any thing. After my 3 days was up no one asked if I’d enjoyed it etc.
I’d expect more from the Nuffield name and for a peak member price of £74!

It's OK overall, probably it needs some machine update, the pool is good. The coffee shop is really bad, poor service and management, if you accept that it does the job as a gym

The reception staff are lovely and helpful, gym disappointing, almost impossible to book a class -always fully booked! Only managed to get to pilates class twice during the year! You need to be up at 7 am to book a class on their website otherwise all spaces gone within seconds! The pool staff rude and full of themselves! The most appalling is that every morning bunch of 5-7 elderly men hijacking the slow lane in the swimming pool and they Do not swim just stroll in a group taking the whole width of the lane, so other members cannot swim past them! Many members asked them politely to swim in one lane clockwise as per instruction on the wall, they refused, with nasty attitude and very rude - staff does Nothing about it, members complained numerous times, one left for this reason- still nothing been done! Outrages, i thought swimming pool is for swimming, these unbelievably rude group of men just walking and talking! Absolutely unacceptable behaviour! I cancelled my membership - looks like management prefer to keep happy this rude group of men terrorising other members! Avoid this centre at any cost

Very nice, very clean. I do find it weird that none of the shower cubicles lock, despite looking like they should?

Staff are a little weird towards me, but im not sure why that is, the vibe is *off*. I built a good rappor in my previous leisure center, hope the same can happen here

Just cancelled membership, spas permanently shut, broken stuff, price hike announced today and everyone pays different amounts basically told pay or cancel membership, bye bye

Grandaughter had a swimming lesson here today Monday 6th Feb, nice swimming pool. Teachers in the water aswell with the kids, good good, yes it's a nice swimming pool.

All in all a decent Gym for the money and good pool. The outstanding experience for me was Stu the duty manager who listened and resolved my questions, there are many managers out there who could learn from Stu on how to manage and provide fantastic customer service.

Very dated, the spa pool has been permanently closed, yet they're just about to hike the price 10% next month when energy prices are starting to come down. Avoid like the plague.

This place is a joke…
All showers doors are broken, and I mea ALL OF THEM, the staff at reception are lovely but the guys who pretend to be a “lifesaver” is unbelievably rude and so full of himself!
They are one of the most expensive in Newcastle, but they’re switching off both of the jacuzzi cos the “increasing price of electricity” all is unreal!
Did an annual cos it looks good at the beginning but after all went banana.
Can’t wait to go elsewhere…

Out dated machines, timetable scheduling is awful! Yoga next door to body-pump is not very smart. Reception staff are really good and helpful thou.
