It is with great sadness I have to report the terrible injustice my family and I have suffered at the hands of Anna from ARC.
We were feeding a beautiful stray tortoiseshell cat over many months and through two pregnancies. I don't know what happened to her first litter but she gave birth to her second litter - nine wondrous kittens - in our living room on 16th March.
For five weeks we nurtured and cared for the attentive mum "Coco" and her adorable kittens. I contacted Anna for advice during this period which she kindly gave.
Then the kittens suddenly developed sickness and diarrhoea and we were terrified of losing them all. Two, in particular, were very poorly and we made the heartbreaking decision to take them to Anna's Rescue Centre to receive professional care and treatment.
We made it completely clear to Anna at the time that we wished to adopt Coco and two of her kittens ourselves when they were well enough and that family members were offering forever homes to three more of the kittens. We told her we would pay whatever fees arose to cover costs and left in tears but reassured that we had done the right thing.
Sadly and shockingly Anna has since been completely negative, judgemental and rude on a number of occasions. I know she does positive work with cats but her people skills are lacking, leaving my husband and I, plus our seven grandchildren, bewildered and traumatised.
Had we known at the time Anna would never allow us access to any of the kitties again we would never have left them in her care but would have sought help elsewhere. We have been judged by someone who knows nothing about us and treated with unkindness and prejudice. I would not wish anyone else to suffer in such a degrading way

Best. Rescue. Centre. Ever. Not only have we adopted two wonderful girls from a caring and thoughtful team, but Anna has always been on the end of the phone to answer any follow up questions. Could not be happier.

We had Sooty from Anna on 27th August, even though we have 2 all black & 1 all white cats (all rescued) we went to adopt because Anna had posted on FB that she had lots of kittens/cats for adoption, but that nobody wants black kittens. I don't know why, because, in my opinion ALL cats are lovely, rescue cats always seem to be more loving. Our black beauties are so loveable, as is the white one. Sooty was 16 wks old & we thought about having a 8 wk old. After chatting about us & our cats, Anna thought that Sooty would fit in great with us & our Yorkie Molly. When we got him home, he was slightly nervous, as you'd expect, but he was also very confident, nosey, friendly & wanted to make friends straight away. He has really settled in & we really love him so much, he is so loving. He is very clean, so Anna had done a great job of training him. Anna is a lovely lady who cares passionately about her cats & asks many questions, so that her cats/kittens go to a good loving & caring home. Also, to try & match you up with your perfect little friend. Anna works very hard to look after all the animals that are brought to her & when we went in to see the cats, we wanted them all! The place is lovely, clean & they have lots of climbing frames, beds, toys etc. If you adopt one off Anna, they are all neutered, microchipped & flea treated. I don't know if the prices vary, but ours was £70 which is an absolute bargain! Someone was asking £100 the other day, without treatment, neutering etc. I actually gave Anna £100 (I hope she don't mind me saying) because she does such a great job I felt she deserved it, she was putting it toward neutering or flea treatment as all those things cost so much money.
So, if you are reading these reviews, I take it you are looking to adopt, well look no further. So many are brought to Anna, that may have been 'dumped' no longer wanted, ill treated, whatever the excuse & there is no excuse, Anna will do her very best to help them, so please help Anna & adopt, adopt adopt.

Not only did I adopt our precious Dog from Anna's rescue, but they also helped us when we needed it the most and our cat had been hit by a car and mostly left for dead, I was supported in everyway possible and directed to a wonderful caring vets who patched up our cat Justice, Anna contributed massively towards these vet fee's andwas also there when I was heartbroken and facing terrible choices. There really aren't the words to describe how wonderful this resue is, but I will be grateful to them for the rest of my life. Thank you so very much x

After losing my precious elderly cats last year and after doing some research about different cat charities I contacted Anna’s Arc Rescue about possibly adopting a cat. Anna promptly did a video home check and asked various questions about what we were looking for and my experience with cats etc.
I was invited to take a look at two brothers who had not had the best start in life to say the least before being rescued by Anna’s Arc. Anna reassured me that she would be there to help with any problems along the way too and went above and beyond my expectations, her support was second to none, amazing. I don’t think I’ve met anyone who knows more about cats and her passion to find forever homes for all cats in her care is clearly her life’s work!
After 8 weeks of patience, gentle care, love and forming a solid routine with these delicate brothers, Marco and Polo are now very happy, content and extremely funny, loving boys.
I can’t thank Anna enough for matching us with this beautiful duo. Anna and all the staff do an amazing job. Thank you again Sharon xx

We adopted our lovely two kitties from Anna's ARC and they were very informative, communication was great, and they were also able to give advice on the pet's care and answer any queries we had even after we took them home. Anna and her team do amazing work and we are so grateful to have our two babies now from them. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to re-home a new feline friend, thanks again xxx

We had a mum that gave birth to kittens under rubble at the back of our building.
After contacting ARC they came out and stayed till early hours of the morning in the freezing cold on several occasions trying to trap them. Eventually the kittens were caught and this morning mum was caught. So they will all be reunited and have their health checked and will find "Forever homes "
I cannot thank Anna and Jenna and the rest of the team I am so chuffed they do a fabulous job

Although Anna’s rescue is mainly cat rescue they sometimes receive fostered dogs. We adopted Kobe a Weimaraner only 5.5 months old and we were his third home. Anna was professional took every precaution that we were suitable to rehome Kobe. A very caring rescue centre I would recommend anyone to visit and adopt through them. Thank you Anna and team xx

I had the absolute pleasure of volunteering at Anna's rescue for a short while.the care and love given to the rescued cats is second to none.every cat is given the same chance and re-homing organised appropriately. During my time there, I adopted Radar.the most fabulous cat who had been living rough before being taken in to ARC.the re-homing process was thorough yet smooth and with Radar's best interests at heart at all times.
ARC do an amazing job with limited facilities and rely on donations.an amazing rescue centre.

How lucky are we to have such a very special lady and her staff to help people when they are facing a very difficult time in their lives.
Anna helped us last weekend, Sunday 27th November 22.

We had been in contact with Anna and explained the situation we were in. Our mum had passed away and had left two female cats.
They were mother and daughter.
We looked after them for as long as we could until a decision was made for Mitsy and Snowflakes best intentions.
How lucky we were to have such a supportive and understanding lady who listened to us.

What a wonderful place for mum's cats to go, we knew that they were in VERY SAFE hands.
After leaving and not being able to string two words together, Anna was amazing.

She said to contact in a week to see how they were.
So on Sat 3rd of December l sent a text asking how Mitsy and Snowflake were doing, to my surprise l had a text saying they had gone to their new home that day.
I let a few tears appear for a second to be followed by a big smile. To know mum's cats have gone to a new home together means so much. So to us as a family knowing there is such a special lady out there, working incredibly hard EVERY DAY
helping all animals and human beings, words fail me.

Where would we be without these amazing people?
To support Anna and her team, will be our pleasure. To return her wonderful kind hearted nature back into all the dedication she invests in all animals and humans.

So THANK YOU for all your support and care you show to everyone, you're one in a million.
Lots of love from Norma, Kari-Ann and family.xxx
Good lucky Misty and Snowflake in your new forever home.

This lady is so warm and loving to animals. We brought a poor little black cat to her with a broken tail and she took him in no questions asked. This lady deserves recognition for the wonderful work she does. Don't bother phoning the rspc for a stray it's the single good people in this world that you should rely on. More respect to this shelter than words can say.

I found out about Anna's Rescue from a colleague at work. Being a life long cat owner I was missing having a multiple cat household but wanted to have a kitten, with my age being that if I left it much longer I would be getting too old.
Anna was so lovely and helpful and after the virtual home visit I was invited to see who needed a new forever home. To my delight there were two kitten sisters waiting for their home with me.
They had been very well cared for whilst in the care of Anna and her volunteers and I was sent home with my two little bundles.
Initially they were quiet which gave my older cat time to adjust. Now, after a few weeks they are thriving, charging around and enjoying the comforts of a home where they will be loved forever.

I'd like to say thank you to ARC so much for finding us the ideally tempered cat to suit our house with a lively 7 year old child! And so quickly after a homecheck by video; was a pleasant surprise to have our furbaby home by Christmas! Thank you for the good care you take of all the cats that come through your door!

Looking at adopting a cat, and as soon as I mentioned I had children I was given all the excuses under the sun why I couldn’t adopt- kittens scratching kids, well they can get taught to not do this and do it with toys instead. And speaking with friends who have had kittens with young children they agreed with me. She then just ignored all messages from me. Reading one review about someone else who lived in ely maybe there was some discrimination there with myself too. Doesn’t sound like she wants these cats re-homed.

We've had 4 rescue cats from ARC, all of which we took in because they were slightly higher needs (all FIV+ street cats) as we wanted to give harder to adopt cats a loving home. ARC is has a no-kill policy, which we really respect. Had our boys ended up at any other rescue they may have been euthanised instead of being adopted out, and they've made incredible pets. Anna and her team has provided so much incredible support and advice, which has continued on long after the cats have settled into our home. ARC genuinely care about cats - they do amazing work and really have cats' best interests at heart. I can't recommend them enough.
